A reminder:  meetings are held the second Tuesday of June and October at noon.   The Christmas luncheon is for dues paying and life  members only. The annual May luncheon is for all alumni.

The  85th Annual May luncheon was held at the Green Pond Country Club with approximately 88 members and guest attending.  The Class of 1961 was honored.  Members  attending received their 50 year pin, they included`: Kay Bruden (Ellmaker),  Gail Elaine Dobbins (Trapani), Barbara Jean Evansky (LeMar), Barbara Ann Fritts (Reimer), Doris Ann Groller (Smith), M. Judith Hamlen.(Bacho), Elizabeth Irene Kugler (Henderschedt) , Donna Ruth LaBarre (Rudy), Jeanne Marie Meder (Bishop), , Mildred Anna Outwater (Gamlin),  Celestina DeLorma Roma (Due), Janice Elaine Ruch. After the luncheon, several members visited Irene Kathleen Czemodia Lattig Wilson, who is recovering in Manor Care, Bethlehem, Pa.
This year there were EHSNAA magnets available.  They are pictured on the front of the directory sent to you with the annual newsletter.   The pin is colored, lettering is black. They are 5 1/2 inch round.
If any alumni would like to purchase a magnet:  send a check made out to the EHSNAA for $6.00 to Jeane Titus, 132 Washington St, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865

Helen A. Morris, 95, of Moravian Village, Bethlehem, passed away Monday, December 22, 2008 in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born in Pen Argyl, she was the daughter of the late S. Walter Morris and Emma (Bittenbender) Morris Jones. She was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1931, Easton Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1934, and University of Pennsylvania, class of 1944 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. In 1944 she was appointed Educational Director of Easton Hospital School of Nursing and in 1947 became Director of Nurses at Easton Hospital. Helen left the Hospital in 1958 and entered Bethlehem School District and opened the Practical Nursing Program at Broughal. She later became Director of the Practical and Professional Nursing Program at Northampton Community College, retiring in 1975. Helen was a 40-year member of Fritz Memorial United Methodist Church, Bethlehem, and prior, she was a life-time member of St. Lukes EUB. She was a former president of the Easton Hospital Alumni Association and former member of the Board of Trustees. Helen worked at the New Bethany Ministries Thrift Shop for 30 years. Survivors: Nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by brothers George Morris, Arthur and Donald Jones, sisters Kathryn L. Jordan and Carolyn B. Edelman. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, December 27, in Fritz Memorial United Methodist Church, 303 W. Packer Ave, Bethlehem, where friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service in the Church. 13 members of the alumni attended the October luncheon held at the Marblehead Chowder House.  The slate of officers were read and voted upon.  For results please check home page for the new officers.  The next meeting will be 12 noon, December 9th, 2008, held at the Green Pond Country Club for life and dues paying members.  Information will be mailed in the near future.  5 members visited Helen Morris, Class of 1934, who resides at the Moravian Village, Broad and Stefko Blvd., Bethlehem, Pa.   She will be 95 years young 10/23/08.

50TH ANNIVERSARY
Yuba City residents George and June Gemberling celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary
with a vacation in Hawaii.
The couple met at the age of 15 years and married at 17 - without graduating from
high school - on Dec. 23, 1957, at Holy Infancy Church in Bethlehem, Pa. They have been
Yuba-Sutter residents for 17 years.
Both later earned their high school diplomas and college degrees.
He retired twice, as chief of anesthesia at Beale Air Force Base hospital and later as
chief of nurse anesthesia for Biggs-Gridley Hospital.
She retired as chief base housing manager for Beale Air Force Base after 28 years
of federal service.
The couple have three children, George III, Sharon and Karen; four grandchildren;
and three great-grandchildren.
George was one of the 1st male nurses to ever graduate from Easton Hospital School of Nursing

Nursing School Instructor Obituary
Marybelle Irene Crusan Smith, 83, of Black Lick, Pa, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, Pa. Born: On February 11, 1925, in Black Lick, Pa, she was a daughter of the late William L. and Ethel Bracken Crusan. Personal: Her husband, Richard C. Smith, died in 1992. Marybelle graduated from Easton High School in 1943, Temple University Cadet Nursing Program in 1947 and received her Masters degree from IUP in 1975. She taught nursing at Indiana Hospital and at Easton Hospital. She worked for the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District for 19 years as the school nurse at Burrell Elementary and Blairsville Senior High. Memberships: She was a member of the Black Lick Presbyterian Church, Chestnut Ridge Women's Golf League and the Friday night bowling league. Survivors: She is survived by two daughters, Roberta "Bobbie" Rebovich and her husband Bob of Homer City, and Judy A. Smith Thill and her husband Dick of Eagan, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Nathan Rebovich and his wife Jen of Plum, Steven Thill and his wife Deb of Cambridge, Minn., Jeffrey Thill and his wife Terri of Farmington, Minn., and Brian Thill and his wife Van of Farmington, Minn.; four great-grandchildren, Michael Brew, Ashley Thill, Tyler Thill, and Scott Thill, and a brother, William E. Crusan of Black Lick. A brother, Blair Crusan, and two sisters, Dorothy Dreher and Lucille Miers, died earlier. Services: The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home Inc., 49 N. Walnut Street, Blairsville, Pa. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. E. Vincent Stratton officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, Pa.
